In fact, some of them may even pose risks. We bought these seeds from the US mainly to compare them with the ones we buy that are world sourced. To be clear: we use the correct 1 variety (out of 900 varieties) with proven neurological activity—but they’re rare and expensive. For example, we once sourced seeds from a U.S. farm at $0.50 per seed. Since we use about 1,800 seeds per jar, that would’ve cost $900 per jar—just for the seeds! World sourcing provide us with ample supply and much lower cost for our clients from the original variety. Each seed must be removed from the fruit and cracked from a rock-hard shell (like a peach pit) by hand. It’s extremely labor-intensive and no fruit or dried jujube on the market has the effect we’ve unlocked. That’s why we only use the seed and apply our specialized preservation process.
